The album “La Perversita” is a daring and innovative musical work, the result of the collaboration between Jeanne Folly, J.L Hennig, VXZ 375, Hektor Zazou and Bazooka. Released in 1979, a time when experimental music and artistic crossovers were in full swing, this album stands out for its singularity and provocative approach. By combining different musical, visual and conceptual influences, “La Perversita” offers a unique sensory and intellectual experience.

The album “La Perversita” is influenced by post-punk, James Chance’s No Wave and other emerging musical movements of the 80s.

From the first notes, the listener is immersed in a rich and complex sound universe. The use of iconic samples like “Strawberry Fields” by the Beatles and “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones reveals a deep intention on the part of the artists: that of dynamiting established conventions and to transcend the rigidity of society at the time by revisiting and reinterpreting rock classics with a subversive punk touch.

Hektor Zazou drew his inspiration from workshops organized in psychiatric hospitals when designing the album “La Perversita”.

The title of the album, “La Perversita“, already evokes a certain ambivalence and a tension between attraction and repulsion, between order and chaos. This ambivalence is found through the disturbing themes addressed in the lyrics and the captivating atmospheres of the songs. The album explores taboo subjects, such as human desires, contradictory impulses and the complexities of the human soul. Enigmatic texts like “I love S…“, leave room for one’s own interpretation and invite the listener to reflect and question their own nature.

The song “I love S...” (by which we were introduced to this album, without knowing what it was about) deserves a careful listen in itself and is undoubtedly a must-see of the album.

Released in 1979, this album is distinguished by its innovative and experimental approach, combining various musical, sonic and conceptual influences.

Hektor Zazou‘s main inspiration for this album comes from the workshops he conducted in psychiatric hospitals. These experiences allowed him to discover and explore the inner worlds of patients, as well as the complex dynamics of these particular environments. This immersion in the world of psychiatry influenced the tone, themes and textures of “La Perversita“, giving the album a particular depth and sensitivity.

Musically, “Hektor Zazou – La Perversita” is an eclectic mix of styles and genres, ranging from electronic to song, including post -punk, No Wave, jazz and experimental music. The compositions are complex and sophisticated, combining captivating melodies, hypnotic rhythms and innovative arrangements. The vocals of Jeanne Folly and the contributions of the other artists add a human and emotional dimension to the album, creating an atmosphere that is both captivating and intriguing.

The themes addressed in “La Perversita” reflect the concerns and questions of Hektor Zazou on human nature, the contradictions of the soul, unacknowledged desires and social taboos.
